Tired of hearing about the Covid? Well then, let’s talk about another epidemic – obesity. At least with Covid, there’s good hope for a vaccine. Not so much for obesity.

Ramin Tolouian, MD, currently is a Clinical Professor of Medicine of the division of nephrology and hypertension at University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.

Dr. Tolouian received his medical degree from Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, followed by his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. He subsequently, completed his renal transplant fellowship at Western General Hospital located in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. In the United States, he completed his internal medicine residency at Yale School of Medicine and subsequently, served his nephrology fellowship at the University of Southern California [USC] in Los Angeles, CA.

He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine [ABIM] for internal medicine and nephrology. Dr. Tolouian is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and a member of the National Kidney Foundation, and the American Nephrology Council.

Dr. Tolouian, is actively involved in teaching and education of the new generation of Internists and Nephrologists. He has established and developed multiple nephrology fellowships and internal medicine residency programs in his career.

Dr. Tolouian has been a principal investigator or co-investigator in several key clinical trials, as well as an invited presenter and lecturer at numerous medical conferences. As author or co-author, his work has been published in many leading medical journals. He is also serving as Ad-hoc reviewer in many prestigious nephrology journals. His research interests are in the field of hyponatremia, vascular calcification and obesity/diabetic nephropathy.
