My Rotary Story
During the Catalina Rotary Club’s first trip to Alamos, in Sonora, Mexico, we stopped in Navajoa. We met with the Navajoa Rotary Club with whom we were partnering on a service project to provide medical care for indigenous communities in rural Sonora, outside of Alamos. They treated us to a Paella lunch and I was blown away at the camaraderie of this group. They met in a building that was also a large daycare and school facility which they had created. They were able to do it so that it funded itself through government grants. It was a great example of making a sustainable, positive impact on their community and being a club with exceptional fellowship.
