How’s your “elevator speech” for Rotary? Do you really have one? If you’ve just been waiting to be inspired into a good one, you’re in luck. Our July 24 speaker, coming all the way from San Francisco’s Chinatown, will help you learn how to tell our Rotary story in a fresh and engaging way.

Ron Gin is the Past District Governor for Rotary District 5150 (Golden Gate area) for 2017-2018. He is a charter member of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown. He served as club president in 2009-2010, when the Club won the Best Small Club in District 5150. He has also served as Assistant Governor for 2010-2012, Area Membership Coordinator for 2012-2013, District Programs Chair from 2013-2015, and Chief of Staff from 2015-2016. Ron is a Major Donor and Paul Harris Society member.

A San Francisco native, Ron enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school. During his service, Ron received the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged with the rank of E5/Sergeant.

Ron returned to City College of San Francisco where he received his Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology and worked as an X-ray technician specializing in CT and MRI scanning. He completed his Bachelor of Science at San Francisco State University and worked as a hospital technologist, vice president of operations, and regional sales manager. After 13 years in medical management, Ron earned an MBA in Finance at the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, California. This led to Ron’s becoming a Certified Financial Planner™ with Morgan Stanley in 1998. In this role, he has received multiple national sales awards, and he continues today at Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor and vice president of wealth management.

Ron has two adult children and a granddaughter. He enjoys hot rods, golf, cycling, tennis, and, of course, Rotary.
