How can streets be made safer? How can we expand travel options so more people can walk, bike, or take public transit? How do we improve reliability of travel time, particularly as we grow? The City of Tucson needs your help shaping its vision and action plan to answer these questions and more. Together, through “Move Tucson,” we can create the city we want to be.

Andy Bemis is the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Coordinator for the City of Tucson Department of Transportation & Mobility, where he directs a wide range of engineering, education, encouragement and evaluation efforts to improve conditions for walking and biking in Tucson. He is also the co-Project Manager for Move Tucson, the City’s long-range Transportation Master Plan. Andy holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a focus in urban sustainability policy and planning from the University of Arizona. Andy is a native Tucsonan, a proud husband to his wife Jenn, and new father to their 1-year-old daughter, Sierra. He enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, rock climbing, biking, playing ultimate frisbee and basketball. He loves traveling at a human powered pace and once rode his bicycle on a 5000 km journey from Tucson to Mexico City.
