And how does China play into all this? Tucson’s Environmental Services Department will have all the intriguing answers for us this Friday.

Pat L. Tapia
Deputy Director
City of Tucson Environmental & General Services

Pat L. Tapia has been Deputy Director for the City of Tucson since October 2015. From 2003 to 2015, Pat was the Environmental Service Administrator for Operations. Mr. Tapia has more than 28 years of experience in the solid waste and recycling industry. Mr. Tapia began his career as a residential driver and moved into various management positions throughout his career in the private sector with Browning Ferris Industries, USA Waste, Waste Management and Friedman Recycling. He currently manages all Collections Operations, the Los Reales Landfill and Code Enforcement.

Cristina Polsgrove
Public Information Officer
City of Tucson Environmental & General Services

Cristina Polsgrove has been the Public Information Officer for Environmental Services since 2004. Cristina has worked in communications and public outreach for over 25 years. She is responsible for media relations, digital and print materials, education and outreach regarding all programs and services provided by the department. From 1990 to 2004, Cristina worked in community relations and educational outreach at the University of Arizona. She is a native Tucsonan and a proud Wildcat!
