Combine the hope of children with the beauty of music, and you get holiday perfection. For us it will be in the form of Mariachi Las Aguilitas de Davis Elementary School. Come and celebrate the holidays with us!
Las Aguilitas de Davis is a performing Mariachi group made up of students from grades 1-5 and generally numbers an average of 60 members. Practice takes place after school hours, during our Extended Day program, four days a week. Students perform outside of school hours and occasionally during school hours. The group plays in a variety of settings, such as other schools, nursing homes, for public functions and has had the honor of playing for many leaders in our state and community. Their mariachi program is an integral part of our students’ Spanish language development; students learn songs in Spanish, helping them with vocabulary and oral proficiency. All members of Aguilitas are expected to maintain above average grades throughout the school year and serve as positive role models for other students at Davis as well as in our community.
