Herb Stratford is the co-founder of Stratford Art Works, a 29-year-old Tucson non-profit organization that connects audiences with the arts via projects as diverse as historic performance venues, film festivals, and other events. Herb was the driving force behind the restoration of the Fox Theatre (1999-2008). He has worked in twenty-four states on other historic theatre projects since 2008. Herb’s current project is the restoration of the 1915 Teatro Carmen, scheduled for reopening in 2027.

Herb is also a documentary filmmaker and is developing several scripted and unscripted television projects for various streaming platforms. His weekly film and TV reviews appear weekly on Tucson radio and TV stations. Herb is the director/programmer of Film Fest Tucson and several other film festivals around the U.S.

Herb has lived in Tucson since 1983 and is a two-time graduate of the UA.
