Lisa Scott is a sepsis survivor and quadruple amputee in Tucson, Arizona. In December 2022, she suffered from a kidney stone that rapidly developed into septic shock and was given a very slim chance of survival. She defied the odds by beating sepsis, but was left a quadruple amputee from developing necrosis in her hands and feet.
During her presentation, entitled HANDling Adversity, One STEP at a Time, Lisa shares her story of survival and finding happiness after a significant life change. She relates the challenges in her life to the types of challenges everyone encounters, and shares how her positive outlook, sense of community, and ability to find gratitude, have allowed her to continue living a fulfilling life without hands and feet.
