Kristi Halvorson grew up and lived in Oregon where she worked in a family land development business on various projects in Washington and Oregon. Thereafter, she had a custom homebuilding firm on the central Oregon coast. She and her husband Steve Keppler have been married for 40 years and had an ornamental tree nursery south of Portland. They were snowbirds for several years, and now live in Oro Valley where Kristi is a member of the Saddlebrooke Rotary Club.

Rotary has been a large part of her life for the last 35 years. She was President of the Kruse Way-Lake Oswego Rotary Club, District Governor in 2009-10, and District Rotary Foundation Chair from 2013-16 in Oregon. Kristi is currently the District 5500 Rotary Foundation Chair.

Kristi and Steve have participated in Polio National Immunization Days in Ethiopia and India, traveled to Central America a number of times on various Rotary projects, and have made it to 11 international conventions. Both are Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation and Kristi is a Paul Harris Society member and Bequest Society member.

During her presentation, Kristi provides a brief history of The Rotary Foundation and an overview of all its programs and funding opportunities.
