KDRI AM/FM The Drive Tucson radio personality Matt Gentry shares how the station became a true contender in Tucson’s radio market, and how technology helped and hindered KDRI along the way.
Matt grew up in Tucson. On air, he regales his listeners with stories about the people, places, and things he’s experienced during his decades in the Old Pueblo. He began his radio career in 1989, working at stations in New Mexico, California, Colorado and Arizona. In 2018 (at 50) Matt chose to expand his opportunities by attending college and earning his degree in Digital Media. He serves The Drive as Director of Programming & Digital Media and as morning host. Asked how he handles the workload, he says his steady diet of raspberries and arugula does wonders for his oddly shaped body type.
