Val Timin is a localist, environmentalist, entrepreneur, and co-founder of the zero waste store Cero. In 2019, Val and her friend Nelene Deguzman teamed up to open Cero, a zero waste pop up shop that has since grown to a brick & mortar and online business.

In 2009, Val learned about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. This inspired her to begin a low waste lifestyle and learn more about sustainability. Val has been building up plastic-free habits ever since and now shares her knowledge with others on their zero waste journey through Cero programs like litter pickups and sustainability discussions.

Before opening Cero, Val’s career had been focused around marketing, social media, and events – which she still enjoys doing today. She recently established her second company, MVT Marketing, to help other small business owners establish and grow their businesses. Val graduated from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona with a Bachelors in Business Administration. Outside of work, Val enjoys birding, cycling, and camping.
