The Catalina Rotary Club is developing an enviable reputation in the Rotary World for the good work we do towards Changing the Lives of Young People in Need. But we’ve still got a way to go when it comes to educating our local community and potential members about who we are and what we do.

In 2018, Catalina Rotary, with contributions from many club members, created a Strategic Plan that identified a Mission, Vision, and Brand Statement for the club along with a number of strategic goals.

In the coming Rotary Year, the Catalina Rotary Club is taking the next step in creating and implementing a Strategic Communications Plan. The plan is modeled after the strategy and methods common among other successful organizations, non-profit and for-profit alike.

Tony Spear is the chair of CRC’s Public Image Committee and will be presenting our club’s strategy, methods and process. He’ll also introduce the club’s Public Image team for the coming year.

Tony has been a Rotarian since 1992. He’s Past President of the Tucson Sunset Club. He’s been a member of the Catalina Rotary Club of Tucson since 1998. Tony has held many club and district offices including four “tours” as an Assistant Governor and three as Club Secretary. He is also a multi-level Paul Harris Fellow and member of the Paul Harris Society.

Following twenty years with Sir Speedy Printing and Marketing Services, Tony went on to hold a number of sales and marketing positions. He played a key role in creating strategic marketing and communications plans for organizations such as the The Temp Connection, Ventana Medical, The Fox Theatre Tucson, The Tucson Jazz Fest and yes, even The Catalina Rotary Club.

In addition to engineering degrees from Purdue University and Stanford University, Tony holds a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from the University of California at Berkeley.
