President Bob opened the meeting with the pledge and a few announcements. Be sure and sign up for Rotary meeting assignments for future meetings. We need more volunteers. We will have a happy hour meeting on Thursday September 22, in lieu of a Friday meeting. Stand by for time and place. Olivier Fahrni needs 3 Rotarians to help with greeting cards. The next board meeting is next Friday at the Viscount Suites prior to the regular meeting of the club. Please be sure and check your emails for the announcement about the Kino Rotary Club tour of Rio Nuevo Projects in downtown Tucson, the first 24 sign ups get to go on this educational outing. Al Chesser announced the service for Kevin Horstman is Saturday September 29th at the Catalina United Methodist church at 11AM. Please see Al’s email with more details in the obituary. Dick Stein announced there were no guests to introduce. Paul Bennet drew for the queen of hearts, no luck. Good news for next week’s meeting: the pot is up over $1,200.

Tom Robertson was his usual clever self as Sergeant-at-Arms. Irv was the can man and helped CRC Rotarians part with their hard-earned dollars. Tom then introduced our program. Karin Akins Malbrough, Olivia Avanzato, and Cindy Roberston told us about the HeARTworks art program run by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson. CRC funded Heartworks this year with a grant. As a club, we always enjoy seeing programs funded by our club.
